Night Hawk Sleep Systems Inc. uses FDA approved Type III sleep diagnostic devices, designed to detect and identify sleep disordered breathing. These devices are specifically designed to measure breath effort, nasal airflow, blood oxygen saturation, and heart rate. Using this information, a registered polysomnographer can calculate sleep disordered breathing evidence and our Sleep Board Certified physicians can determine whether a disorder is present and if so, the severity of that disorder.
During the intake process, Night Hawk’s professional billing staff will verify the patient’s insurance coverage and, to the best of our ability, determine what potential out of pocket costs the patient may have. Night Hawk makes every effort to minimize the financial burden for a patient.
Patients with documented financial hardships are offered the opportunity to break up their out of pocket over several months to reduce the financial impact of testing.
Type III testing is very easy for the patient. The patient wears an elastic belt around the chest that holds the data collection device, a nasal cannula for airflow and a pulse oximeter probe for oxygen saturation and heart rate. Patients are instructed by our expert staff and with provided 24 hour live phone support.
Complete test results are returned to the ordering physician with 24 business hours of test completion and include easy to read medical interpretation and recommendations for next steps regarding the patient’s condition and needs.
Night Hawk accepts prescriptions via fax, phone, and secure email. Patient testing does require a physician's order, and some insurance carriers require chart notes to include Hx and discussion of sleep with the patient. Upon receipt of a prescription for testing, patients are scheduled for testing at the PATIENT's earliest opportunity.
Patients that have a documented need as determined by interpretation of the study by a Sleep Board Certified physician will have the recommendation for PAP therapy included with the results delivered to the ordering physicians. The ordering physician can return a signed prescription for PAP to us and we will place the prescription with a highly qualified provider of PAP therapy. Alternatively the ordering physician can refer the patient to a provider of their choice. Insurance may determine PAP provider choices and as a service, Night Hawk will place PAP orders with participating providers to reduce out of pocket costs for patients.
